“Beijing International Forum for Metropolitan Clean Air Actions” is a professional forum in the field of ecological environment held by Beijing Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau for consecutive years. This year’s forum will be held during CIFTIS on September 4-5, 2022. With the theme of “Synergizing the Reduction of Pollution and Carbon Emissions”, the forum will invite environmental and climate officials and experts from international organizations such as UNEP and IRENA, global metropolises such as Seoul, Tokyo, London, Paris, Lombardy Region, Bogota, Ulaanbaatar, as well as representatives from relevant provinces and research institutions of China, to summarize and share the ambitions, targets, measures and progress of international metropolises in air quality management and addressing climate change. We hope this forum will serve as a platform of dialogue and exchange, as well as a catalyst for joint efforts in metropolitan clean air and climate actions.
The 2-day forum will consist of a plenary session and two technical sessions. The plenary session will focus on the theme of “Clean Air and Climate Actions of International Metropolises-Synergizing the Reduction of Pollution and GHGs Emissions”, to discuss and share the latest planning, policy, typical cases and stories of air pollution control and addressing climate change in different metropolises. It aims to provide international experience and reference for cities and local governments to jointly promote “Co-Benefits of Reducing Pollution and Carbon Emissions”.
The two technical sessions will focus on the following topics: (1) Green and Low-carbon Transport; and (2) Green Finance for Low-carbon City (please refer to their respective page for more information).
